Weather & Outfit
- Summer in Korea is extremely hot and very HUMID (even after sunset), but at the same time indoor places will turn on the A/C very strong.
- Pack breathable, cool clothing, along with a light jacket or cardigan for indoors.
- This was a weather of Seoul in July, 2025.

Cash & Card
Korea is almost completely a cashless society. In fact, it is illegal for registered businesses to refuse card payments. Even traditional markets and coin karaokes (Noraebang) accept cards now!
Rather than exchanging a large amount of cash into Korean Won, we highly recommend checking if your credit/debit card works internationally.
Actually, bringing too much cash can be a problem because many places (including city buses and trendy cafes) are "Card Only" and might not even have enough physical cash to give you change 😭.
- When do you actually need cash?
- Very rare exceptions like valet parking tips or roadside street food stalls.
Culture & Etiquette
In Restaurants, Cafes
- There is NO tip culture in Korea.
- Every price is “tax included” price, which means it is a final price.
- To call the server, press the bell or shout “Jeogiyo(저기요)” or slightly raise your hand.
(It is not rude)
